“Organic Headshots has photographed portraits for our key staff members at Capital One several times now, and we have consistently been happy with the results. Having a team like theirs is invaluable for getting our employees to loosen up and relax for their headshots. Their team is extremely professional, kind and thorough- the quality of their team very much so aligns with the quality of their photos. We look forward to having them back for our next shoot!"
“We have had Organic Headshots come into the Big Ten office for headshots for our staff many times over the last several years and we have always been very happy with the results and the service. It has always been a pleasure working with the company and building a great relationship with the photographers. Service and results are excellent and they go out of their way to make sure we are happy with the finished product, which we always have been. A great company with great staff!”
“SOOO WONDERFUL!!! Kristine was my photographer and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. She made me feel at home, comfortable. She listened to my needs and preferences while offering suggestions based on her experience. I am one that typically is super critical of my pictures. But I saw these headshots and was impressed --- so many great ones to use. I would recommend Kristine and Organic Headshots to anyone!”

"My experience with Organic Headshots far exceeded my expectations. The studio was very warm and inviting and I immediately felt comfortable. The photographer was very energetic and ran through her process but also asked for my input and ideas. I felt great throughout the shoot and very pleased with the images they were able to capture. I would encourage anyone looking for professional shots to reach out to this team."

"The entire experience was easy, relaxing and fun. I have a serious fear of the camera, and I always feel like I look terrible in photos. They did an amazing job putting me at ease, doing make up and hair and taking beautiful photographs. I will absolutely use them in the future."
- Crystal A.
“You made this really hard because you captured so many good professional headshots of me. The lighting is fantastic. I cannot believe how few wrinkles and shadows show up without retouching. I will end up downloading far more of these headshots than I expected just to keep. It was a lovely experience. Thanks so much!”
-Alyson S.

Do I need professional headshots?

If you found yourself here, then yes, you need headshots. Professional headshots are not just for actors and musicians anymore. We meet each other online now before in person, so you need great professional photos of yourself to give that perfect first impression. FAQs

As many as it takes! We keep snapping until you and the photographer are both confident that there are plenty of quality photographs to choose from. We average about 50-100 photos in a one look session.
In our parking lot! There’s a free parking lot in front of our building, and if it’s full there should be plenty of free street parking within a block radius of the building. If you can’t find something, call us when you get here and we’ll help!
After your headshot session, we will email you an online gallery to view and download all your photos, typically within 2-4 business days. If you need it faster, we do have rush fees for a same day turnaround.
Great question! Headshots are a type of portrait. They’re usually a more straight-forward image; but lately they’ve been evolving to be less “ID badge photo” and more “editorial portrait.” Read more about the difference between headshots and portraits here.

We do our best to “shoot not to edit” so all your photos are ready to use! But if you want to do some tweaking afterward (and 9 out of 10 of us do), you can purchase retouching. Here’s a link to our different retouching options and some examples, and you can always give us requests or make changes after you see our edits.
Bring some options and check out our tips page for some advice and ideas. We’ll help you choose an outfit when you get here, so bring as many as you’d like. There’s no such thing as bringing too many outfits; we’ve seen a lot of suitcases and love going through everyones’ wardrobes. Here’s a link with a TON of tips!
Heck yeah we will! Don’t worry about feeling awkward– we won’t just plop you in front of a camera and tell you to say “cheese.” We’ll coach you into lots of different smiles and poses so you have plenty of options to choose from.
It’s totally natural to be nervous for your photo session or to be worried that you won’t like them. We’ve all seen lousy photos of ourselves and dread that this next photo is going to be another reject. We’ll show you the photos as we take them so we can work together to make sure you love them and won’t let you leave until you’re confident we got a great shot.

What Do Trans And Non-Binary Folk Wear For Headshots?

Short answer: Whatever the hell they want.

Longer answer: Read below for clothing tips for trans, non-binary, queer, and gender non-conforming individuals about to have their photo taken.

An Opinion Piece on Wrinkles

I have a skincare regimen about eight bottles deep and it burns a $900 hole in my pocket every year. A small drop in the bucket compared to the $3.8 billion the entire US spent on anti-wrinkle creams last year. Why do I, like so many other women, spend so much money erasing wrinkles from my face and slowing the inevitable new ones from forming before I’m ready for them?

Should I Smile in a Headshot?

It’s a common question: do you smile in a business photo? Should I smile in my corporate headshot? For Gen Z this question might sound like a softball no-brainer question and they’d answer, “bet; you should smile this is brainrot content show your rizz.”

Overcoming Photo Session Anxiety

About nine years ago I took a fear of flying workshop because I was so scared of flying I couldn’t step onto a plane without crying NOPE NEVERMIND and walking right back through the jet bridge and asking the desk to refund my ticket. Now I fly everywhere, but more on that later. Let me start from the beginning.

We’ll cover what your headshot says about you, how it impacts your visibility, and even how it plays into LinkedIn’s job-search algorithms.

AI Makes Me Feel Ugly

Does the use of AI in images created for content in social media and marketing campaigns create unrealistic expectations of beauty? Obviously. Completely AI generated images of humans who don’t exist are usually tall, thin, young, and have flawless skin and perfect teeth unless you program them otherwise.

How I Gave Up On My Dream

Our friends at Cinema Femme asked me to share some of my old filmmaking stories for their magazine, and we ended up talking about an unexpected topic: the idea of following your dreams and passions as an unhealthy and possibly toxic idealization of selfhood.

Why My Immigrant Grandfather Was Cool

This year is the 20th year for my small business and it’s got me thinking a lot about my grandfather and the businesses he ran. For years I thought I was a bit of a black sheep in the family for going out on my own as a gig worker then a small business owner instead of following the rules of a W-2. But it was my grandfather who brought entrepreneurship into the family.
